(Typhoon Haiyan Response Project for Early Recovery in the Municipalities of Baco and Naujan, Mindoro Oriental)
PHILSSA in partnership with Kaunsayan Formation for Community Development, Inc. (KAFCODE) will provide early recovery assistance to two municipalities (Baco and Naujan), four communities and 160 families in the Province of Mindoro Oriental.
Funded under the Thomas J. Long Foundation Fund of Give2Asia, the project will support the affected communities in their rebuilding efforts through assistance in the Municipal Land Use and Shelter Planning and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Planning. It will also provide capacity-building training for 25 local government officials, staff and civil society organization leaders of the target two municipalities on Land Use and Shelter Planning and DRRM Planning.
In addition, psycho-social first aid, livelihood early recovery assistance and early recovery assistance for community services and facilities will also be given in four (4) communities each in the two pilot municipalities.
